Reishi - Ganoderma lucidum (Lingzhi)

  • Also known at the ‘Mushroom of Immortality”, Reishi has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries

  • This is due to the presence of several health-promoting and biologically active molecules in Ganoderma species justified well its application in functional foods and as a supplement

  • Several bioactive molecules such as polysaccharides (mainly β-glucans), terpenoids, phenolic compounds, steroids, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins (B1, B2, B6), proteins and minerals with established health benefits have been reported

  • The anti-obesity, anti-inflammatory and prebiotic properties of G. lucidum have been documented in several reports and scientific reviews
